Known Issues and Troubleshooting
The NVIDIA Shield Tablet Firmware 1.0 had a few known issues reported as:- Wi-Fi connectivity: some users experienced difficulty connecting to Wi-Fi, the easiest workaround was to temporarily switch to airplane mode then back again.
- Overheating: device would get quite hot under load and some users raised concerns over its performance over the long term.
- Wi-Fi Issues: Try toggling Airplane mode or Wi-Fi.” Pull down on the app drawer from the home screen and see if toggling off/on helped, but users who've had this issue suggest doing this in airplane mode made Wi-Fi work normally.
- Overheating or extreme battery drain: Make sure your tablet is not in a hot place or full brightness. Ensure you don’t also have apps running that any syncing turned on excessively, like Google Backups or Google Cell ID.

- In the tablet's app drawer, open >Settings >About Tablet >Software Update >Wait until it says the version is up-to-date for you to check.
- Install updates if any are available if Not, it means the latest version of the firmware is already installed.
